Nominations typically take place in February/March. Selection for universities that have more interest than allocated places will be decided by academic results.
Broadly, you can choose what you want to study. You will discuss it with your coordinator before you go but the emphasis is on business subjects and areas of business that you want to specialise in.
You will be put in contact with your host university who will advise you on campus and/or private accommodation. We can put you in contact with previous DCU students who have done exchanges in the location you travel to.
You are still a DCU student, even though you are on an exchange. You will be in touch with a DCU coordinator or point of contact throughout your time abroad. The mobilities office will support you as well with any issues that arise with visa grants, accommodation etc. You can also still draw off personal, and academic skills and professional development supports.
Typically grants are only provided for countries involved in the Erasmus + programme. The mobility office will guide you on this process when you are nominated.
It differs depending on the DCU programme you are enrolled in. Generally, you are required to complete between 40-45 credits at your host institution with the remaining 15-20 credits coming from DCU modules. One is an online 15-credit year abroad reflection module and one (only for INTB students) is a 5-credit pre-departure language module.
"As the Course Chair for Erasmus & Study Abroad at DCU Business School, I am delighted to highlight the Erasmus opportunities available at Dublin City University.
Our Erasmus programme is designed to broaden your academic horizons, immerse you in diverse cultures, and equip you with invaluable international experiences.
By participating, you will study at prestigious partner universities, gain a global perspective on business practices, and build a network of international peers.
The skills and experiences you acquire will significantly enhance your employability and personal growth. I encourage all students to seize this unique opportunity to enrich their educational journey and prepare for a dynamic, interconnected world."
